In the Collaborative Process the clients control the timing of everything. They control how quickly or slowly the Process will move. If the clients act timely, the Process moves smoothly to conclusion.
In litigation the clients are subject to waiting on court calendar where hearings are difficult to obtain. This extending of the divorce process prevents clients and their families from moving on to the next chapter of their lives. It is not uncommon in litigation for the final hearings to take well over a year to be set.
On average in the Collaborative Process, the parties can have agreements drafted for signing within 3-6 months. The efficiency of the Collaborative Process not only allows for those engaged in the process to move on with their futures in a timely manner, but also allows for them to better control the cost of the process.
